Content (Syllabus outline)
History of Canon Law: Sources of Canon Law, Reform of Canon Law. Constitution of Roman Catholic Church: Members of Roman Catholic Church, Clerics and Lay persons, Hierarchical regulation of Roman Catholic Church. Mission of Roman Catholic Church: Doctrine, Education and Religious education, Ordination (Matrimonial Law). Property of Roman Catholic Church (Elementary, Acquisition and Administration, Protection of Natural and Cultural Heritage). Penalties: Fundamental Principles of Criminal Law of Catholic Church (crime and penalty, individual penalties). Legal Protection: Fundamental Principles (justification of existence, jurisdiction, procedure, legal protection), Court Order, Legal Procedure, Nomography. State and Roman Catholic Church.

The objective of this course is to gain knowledge about history of canon law and authorities and system of canon law after 1983 and especially knowledge of constitutional, economic and matrimonial law of Roman Catholic Church. 
Intendend learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Knowledge and Understanding: On completion of this course the student will be able to: demonstrate understanding of the traditional institutes of canon law (especially: constitutional, economic and matrimonial institutes), be aware of actual situation of Roman Catholic Church in Republic of Slovenia and its position in Universal Roman Catholic Church.  
Intendend learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes'
Transferable/Key Skills and other attributes: Oral and writing expressions of legal problems of Roman Catholic Church which result from lex originis in Republic of Slovenia and solving them using comparative method.

• Lectures, • Seminars, • Tutorials. Part of the tutorial is in a classroom while the rest is in the form of e-learning (e-tutorials may be given via video-conferencing or with the help of specially designed e-material in a virtual electronic learning environment), • Individual work, • Discussion of court decisions, • Actual problem solving.
