Objectives and competences
Modern enterprises are operating in rapidly changing environment. In the circumstances of bounded rationality, the owners, entrepreneurs and managers have to be able to make decisions on the basis of asymmetrical and imperfect information. They need to understand the danger of opportunistic behavior and the specificity of agency problems, as well as to manage the establishment and destruction of isolating mechanisms. The course is designed to draw attention of graduate students to the applicability of modern business economics and theories of the firm. The course shall acquaint the students in detail with modern theories of the firm, which would allow them to understand fundamental concepts on which the performance of modern enterprise is based. Students will acquire knowledge that will enable them to succeed in entrepreneurial practice.
